Last dance with the 939's, decided to give one of these cherries (a definate 3 gig possibility) a ride with some Gskill HZ (2x1gig).

the 170 i have now is running 8x325, ram @261 on 166 divider, it has more, but this is a very confortable setting, bulletproof...........

then i am going to wait, quad cores are around the corner and i am waiting for the MB arena to sort itself out.

the coolit cpu cooler is actually the minirefer/liquid cooler i have dreamed about in my private musings while in the throws of pelt and Promie usage, i am sure the technology will mature and become even more robust.

the coolit unit comes with a reostat adjustment on the controller card (not pci, but separate pcb), crank it all the way up and the unit really performs.

got the cpu yesterday, but the assemblege of bike took all my time, got a carbon frame (wow, very lite, 2 lbs 10 ozs), had to bring over all the carbon stuffs from the other bike.

the only thing not carbon on the bike other than the obvious is the wheels. the seat post, seat (110 grams), forks, Tektro R750 carbon brakes, handlebars, bottle cages, 175 mm compact carbon crankset, carbon titanium bottom brakcet.

have to get a new front derailer, tube diameter is different, everything else was a slam dunk. looks like big ring riding only today.

total weight without water in the bottles and the mini pump/small underseat tool bag removed, 16 lbs

don't ask how much i spent, needless to say it took over a year to assemble the ride on my old Cannondale 1996 R500 frame while i still used it for workouts.

could have bought a ready made carbon for much less.... butit was worth every tinker minute.....

as usual, crazy as ever,

b
