with AMD's cache too much. The biggest difference between Opty's and Athlons is that the Opty's are tested under more extreme operating conditions - (4 corner temperature / voltage) and therefore have a bit more headroom for overclocking under standard conditions.

My recommendation is to go with whatever is on sale as long as your motherboard is compatible with dual cores (check the BIOS revision)
