sudden screen saver

I just setup a new XP Pro system and I am having weird behavior with certain programs that want to go into screensaver mode suddenly (seconds of inactivity). It is sparatic and not constant. It seems to come and go at will. I have checked the power saver and screen saver under XP and everything looks OK. When it does happen, it does not produce any errors or freezes. I find it rather annoying to be writing and the video decides that it wants to power save.

Is this an issue of the processor or video card?

I am using an AMD X2 4400+, MSI 7900GT, and 2G Patriot memory on a Epox M1697 mobo (XP).

I did have issues with the previous MSI drivers on XP Pro. I had to do a clean sweep with Drive Cleaner Pro and install the newest 91.XX drivers. I didn't have any problems until the last couple of days. I am almost ready to do a re-install of XP if this does not stop.
