what virus scanner are you using right now????

i just got back from the Grisoft site (AVG) and there are many references to this virus.

my virus software scans everyday, and if a virus is found, i drop everything and counter attack with a vengence, it is the only way to win, it also has 'real time' warnings as soon as your unit is compromised............

i will ask again, what virus scanner did you have running when this all happened???? was the virus database up to date????

can you isolate the date it appeared??? if you corral it with system restore turned off, then turn it on again, then go back to a date prior to the infection, just maybe you can save yer arse....

or, if you have another HD, you could reinstall the OS w/your antivirus ready to go, then slave the bad one and immediately scan from the good install. more than likely the virus will not jump from an idle slaved HD, thus giving you the time to properly corral or correct the virus problem, then you can get to rebuilding.

no matter what, it is going to take some work.
