Frpm there a porggie will pop up and if sje had restore on it'll give dates that the Coputer can revert back to. Just pick the date just before it happened.

Yes...Virus's are notoriuos for eating up CPU cycles so if she does the 3 finger Salute (ie Ctrl-Alt-Del) she c an check to see if anything is eating up the CPU.

Finally just pack your bags, jump in the Car and go see her to fix it...LOL we can trouble shoot from there
