Naw them Sandiegos are special...I'm thinking that it's an error having to do with the mass storage...are you using an upgrade XP disc, or did you make one and slipstream something in (ala SP2)?

Other thingys that it maybe is:
Dirty CD so it's not reading
Ram maybe at fault or need the timing looser
PSU not giving enough juice for the system
