Thought I'd connect each of the 4 250GB drives up to a molex and see how they faired - in prep for finding a suitable RAID controller card to substitute and get my files off.
First on....smoker!.....that was the same one the +5V output tranny on the RAID board was fried on...oh...that might expalin something....there goes US$150!!!.....
Second on....smoker!....doh!....surely I havent didnt have a PS problem....
So I connected an old good 15GB drive .....precariously....and it fired up...no probs.
Third 250GB was tried....smoker!!!.....this is getting expensive!!!
Fourth....dead as a door nail.
So begins my warranty claims!....any chance?

What do you reckon my chances are of a warranty!!....???.....Figured these drives would be warrantied for 3years - even though the Lacie was only 12 months.
