Yes - I had some similar suspicions.
Maybe it's calling for a 5V feedback from each of the drives before power up and it's not getting it from this one...open circuit - hmmm.....
I've asked lacie for the possibility of getting a new board, but I imagine it's expensive...say >USD$200
What PCI RAID card do you reckon would do the job.
For 4 disks do you just do a master slave arrange. on each of the 2 IDE's or do you need a 4 IDE plug RAID card? I've only done 2 disk stripe RAID before.
