Hello again

I am installing a new WIndows 2003 server - so I have this sillyass question:

In the initial installation, Windows asks me if I want to set up the network to be part of a workgroup or to join an EXISTING domain.

So, the domain I WANT to create (essentially) is the same name as the domain I need to join. Does this make sense?

When I Finish the initial install, I Want to CREATE a domain controller for a new forest with the domain that I would put in that part of the initial install - I hope I am not confusing amyone - I sure as hell am

So.. should i make this part of a workgroup or make it part of the domain [that dosnt exist yet] and then use the same name later.

Does anyone see problems with this - and if there is a proper way to enter this info, if at all, that would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

This server is for our network, and basically we are replacing another server. (upgrading/migrating, whatever you want to call it)

Thanks!
