I have a Gigabyte GA-81P775 motherboard with 1 gig of PC3200 DDR 400 RAM (2 - 512 chips). The computer is used as a fairly sophistacated CAD station (P4 @ 3.4 ghz).
I want to upgrad to 2 gig of RAM. Question is should I replace the 1 gig of PC3200 with 2 gig of Dual Channel DDR (supported by the motherboard), or just add another 1 gig of the same PC3200.
Is the dual channel going to make a difference with the CAD intensive and math intensive calculations of 3D work, or is it only really worth spending the extra money on if you gaming?
As always, thanks!
