as far as the ram goes, got it @Newegg, it ain't cheap sutffs............
and, yes on the MB, the only thing missing is the firewire, but my sound card has a firewire and i hooked the CD/r-rw via external combo box (usb 2.0 or firewire). tried it both ways, works great.
i really can't find any glaring faults except for one, the IDE and floppy connectors are kinda weird, completely at the bottom edge of the MB, one can work around that though.......
regarding the dual core 939 Opty's or A64 dual core, yes this board will take them, just be careful to verify it is for a 939 and not a 940.
with the 'future cpu port option' you will even be able to run a 940 waffer when the proper riser becomes available to the masses.........
kinda a real good all round win/win board, and especially nice with the opteron or any 939 a64 you so desire.
