Is this the CPU with the dodgy PIN? If you get "Checksum error " it is some sort of "post"Have you tried the Back to basics[motherboard;keyboard; mouse; video;] boot from a floppy. Then add Hard drive etc ;1 by 1.If you were fooling around with the cables while turned on, with HD,s dropping in and out;you could have damaged something, but if the HD,s work else where ; The motherboard is the most likely problem. Trying to flash the BIOS in a board that won,t even post to basic startup, is risky to say the least.Your BEEP CODE should tell or give you a hint on the problem.{beep code relevant to the board manufacturer;what ever your board is}.From memory your in Queensland -High Humidity-It might be worth going over all your connectors \plugs with some IsoPropol Alchohol/or similar substance.as high humidity creates oxidisation on metal contacts and although invisible to the human eye ;can cause a lot of problems with critical Low Voltge Situations. |
