When you try the 850 are you changing the dividers (ram/chipset/ISA/PCI) for the bus system ?. As you just cant change the multiplier. Another possible option try a google search for that MoBo (name voltage mods). Never know it may have been already done by someone else & posted. The older slot version CPU card voltage was changable. Thou I dont know the normal voltage & most limits of those CPU's anymore.

BTW like MS its been along time since I played with my celeron 300A's @ 450 MHz & not everyone could push the faster celerons as the limit of that model was around that area. Also I modded my slots removed excess junk plastic & had two fans on one of they.
