My whole point is the PC is an open architecture based on the 8086 general purpose Central Processing Unit. All much to slow for me special purpose processors are being added on & then built in if they are good & accepted (mostly by gamers first).
An example is a new basic cheap computer system has a built in math co-processor in the CPU (was an add on option), now has built in CPU cache (was an add on option), 3D graphics (was an add on option), sound was an add on option.
I left chipsets out as thats a whole other batch of apples with all the old & new types of buss interphases.
