Thanks not sure where my head was at yesterday & performance benchmarks were mentioned. Centaur, which is now VIA's manufacturing subsidiary had great ideas on how to piece together CPU subsystems to save transistors, heat & power. I was hoping that ground up thinking & building of CPU's like this would have created a complete computer on a chip. Which also could work in space just being a general purpose CPU, be small enuf to wear on the body. The real problem as I see it is all this bloatware OS's & programs waste too much space. Its designed to do this so you will go out & buy the latest hardware. Of course the bloatware software can be made can be made much quicker & easier, but at what cost in the end ?. I had a pocket PC over 12 years ago & I am not much impressed with the new stuff or the prices.
