Those are excellent suggestions, and I'll keep them on file for future reference, but with respect to this here EPoX I'm not sure it's worth my time.
First, I looked at the capacitors when I first got the board; if there is a bad cap, it's one that simply went dry without leaving visible evidence, which makes it difficult to find. Second, I shoehorned the board and an ATX PSU into a heavily modified AT case with a bit of custom mounting, so getting it back out for proper testing is not easy. Third, I'm just using that computer as a dedicated game console emulator running an underclocked AXP1500+, a Voodoo3 3000AGP, an Ensoniq AudioPCI pulled from an old Intergraph workstation, and 64MB SDRAM.
As rarely as I use the machine, I really don't mind if its quirky, so long as it is consistently quirky
