Going to give me a migraine. Couldn't get a post screen, finally got that by switching the PSU on and off and hitting the power on switch a few times. So rehooked everything, it sat there and sat there and finally got the post screen and it booted into winders. Went to the desktop, it loaded up and promptly hard locked.
WINXP PRO, SP2, K7S5A,1300 MZ Duron, 512 Meg PC133, Kryo II 64 meg video card, 30 gig Maxtor HDD, 12X Toshiba DVD and Lite On Burner.
It is so damn slow it's not funny. Slow to initalize the video to post, slow to load windows and then locks when it gets to the desktop. I had Liz scan the HDD and defrag it before it got this bad and run ad aware on it but now it's hard locking the minute you finally get it to windows.
Could be the HDD, could be the ram. Could be the Burner or DVD is causing havoc. Something to check out tomorrow. Any other thoughts?
It's that slow initalization of the video card to get the post screen that's bugging me the most. Almost like it's MB, ram or processor related cause I had that without the drives hooked up.
And yes folks I've tried a different Video card and a difference PSU. Same thing.
