I wonder how this is different from the Phillips and Samsung versions that have been out for about the last two-three years. IIRC, cutting edge OLEDs are using more thiophene based oligiomers because of the lower power - good lumen output - overall robust - ability to tune to different colors (from red to blue). I can only guess...

This is a major advance for power consumption, however this is noting that OLEDs are already used in cell phones (Samsung). The power consumption for most of these devices have been low for quite a while. This drops it even further. I hate to think about static electricity.
