Well, if you insist on keeping a literal current backup, you'll be spending more time backing up data than accomplishing any work.

The small apps I mentioned are for folks that enjoy component nuts and bolts maintenance rather than subsystem blackbox replacement (ie. a ghost image restore) when a problem arises.

Bootpart is a quick and dirty app that can save you some time setting up your multiboot options. How you backup/repair disk data is another matter and one of time and personal preference. Me, I like Ghost and always use it just before experimenting with something new.
