Your wife has a Duron 600MZ? I have Annie on a Duron 1300MZ and she can play Sims2. She doesn't complain.
I have a Kryo II 64 meg DDR video card in her machine(3D Prophet 4500), so the 8500 64 meg should perk up your wife's machine.The amount of ram makes more difference than anything if she's using XP.I have 512 meg in Annie's machine and a gig on mine.
