I just looked at it(9600 Pro) at Newegg and don't see any auxillary power plug on it. The FX5700 didn't have one either. But this GF6600 does have.
Zap had made the comment before he shipped me the NF2 MB that he had 5 of them and had trouble booting all of them on the first try.He thought he had 5 DOA boards. The problems with the boot were all video related. He finally got all the boards going, but it took some fiddling around. Picky about the video cards.
I figure they are weak in power to the AGP slot and if you have a large later Video card on there,
they have problems unless as it seems if the card has the auxillary power plug on it.
