Pagefile can be removed but the rig should have at least 1 gig of RAM as the HD which has the Pagefile takes over when the RAM is exhausted.

I would just let the ACPI handle the IRQ's which XP usually has no problem with...You can change some settings (I/O Ports in the BIOS and some in the Device Manager under the Hardware Device / Resources
