Sound cards don't need more bandwidth. Improving a soundcard can be done in three ways: 1) improve the DAC, 2) improve the amplification, & 3) better EMI shielding.

Google for professional level sound equipment for computers. 99.9% of the expensive stuff are all external boxes (for reduced EMI) and have the highest quality DACs available. Many don't even have amplification and require you to supply your own amp.
