Well, I think it is probably best to just block and delete as soon as possible. The spammers here don't really expect generate a lot, if any, traffic by posting here. What they are really after is increasing their google page rank by posting a link on cpu-central.com.

Also the IP addresses they use are often random proxy servers out on the net. And it looks like one spammer has figured out how to spoof random IP addresses at the application layer by rewriting an open source linux based proxy, probably squid.

The filter I setup can use up to 6 characteristics of a post. Once I've seen a few posts from a spammer I can tailor a filter to lock them out. When they post I still send them the sucess message, but their message goes nowhere. I do get an email for each nuked posting. After a while with no clickthroughs and no benifit to page rank they usually give up.
