I looked at the ASUS site looking at the SATA info & the nForce4 chipset provides 4 SATA & a Silicon Image controller provides another four Serial ATA connectors.
So did you try both controllers ?.
The main reason I would switch to a new MoBo would be the SATA. I have been stuck with PATA 100 with slow RPM's & my dual drives & dual OS's dont work well with my new nForce2 chipset. Well ok PCI-E would be the second main reason to upgrade. Anyways being retired now & no computer funds coming in anymore I have to be very picky about my upgrades.
