Those little tubes aren't bad where space is at a premium. My Corolla GTS (1988, AE92 -- not the AE86 drifter) doesn't have any real trunk space to speak of, so I just built the box to fit, not to conserve. (Takes up about 2/5s). 2.0 cubic foot volume, 10" Fosgate PunchZ, and an Alpine amp with something like a 175W RMS output. Won't win any audio competitions and doesn't carry much outside the car, but it sounds good in the cab and so far nobody has tried to jimmy my trunk, either
