When the video problem first came about before he brought it to me, it never booted to safe it just changed the settings coming into winders.He said that the color was odd, but when it came over here his color was ok, but it kept changing his destop settings. It didn't boot into safemode though.

Now after it shut off(and as I said below shut off, click, machine off) in that boot, then on the reboot it wanted to go to safe mode. But that was the only time.

This is not the most stellar of machines, everything on it is old except that modem which is new.Maybe 5 to 6 months old.Has the onboard sound and video, the PCI moden a floppy and a 16x CD-ROM. 92 meg of ram, K62-500 processor. End of stuff.
