Well, on the main message board page:

Near the top of the page there is now a dropdown select box that lets you select how many indentations to show when listing messages. It now defaults to 15.

To see the feature at work select 10 click refresh and scroll about 50 messages down the the thread titled "format error" by Kenny, and you'll see that messages in the thread with an indentation greater than 10 do not indent.

The Ideal is to make the message board more readable for deep threads, and for those with limited screen size.
