Yup, but they haven't driven quite as much of the competition from their sector as M$. At least there is still some variety.

I'm not absolutely sure, but I think that all sound cards still have to be SB16 compatible at the most basic level (ie during an M$ OS install). I wonder what that SB16 license costs.
