XP messed with me on that one as pagefile.sys remained hidden even thru I have unchecked hide all the hide stuff. I did kick in my win 98 as C: & xp as D: & deleted the file that way. The double the normal pagefile I decided to go with setting ended up working once or not at all on reboot or turn off. By booting XP & setting pagefile to zero I restared (tried turn off too) then turned off xp & booted again 98 as C: the pagefile was still there. This is crazy, I did try many more combinations.
