Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anybody ever had this happen to them. I was just browsing the web and then my mouse froze. A few seconds later, everything just went blank! Now I can't turn the thing on anymore. Fans are still turning, and there's power going to the MB, but that's about it. When I try to turn the system on I get nothing, no beeps or anything (well except for the cpu and vid fans that start turning).

I suspect that it has something to do with my ram because I had just changed it's speed, overclocking it a little. However, if this were the case, shouldn't the MB give some sort of diagnostic beep?

Here's what I have

DFI lanparty UT MB
Athlon64 3000+
512 ram (Corsair, with copper heat spreader)

I was overclocking the CPU to 2.4GHz, with the ram at 220. This worked fine for months. Then I lowered my CPU to 2.2GHz so that I could run it a the default VCORE because I wanted to make my system quiter by possibly getting rid of a case fan. This worked fine.

After a day or so with the CPU at 2.2GHz, I realized that I had forgotten to increase the ram speed since I had lowered the bus speed from 240 to 220. I set the ram to run at 220 (which it was doing before anyway), booted into windows, fired up firefox, and then my comp just died. ARGH!

I ordered a new stick of ram, but somehow I get the bad feeling that ram has nothign to do with it.

Anyone have any ideas?
