Why not swap your known good CPU & try that before spending money as I believe your MoBo could be bad.
BTW BIOS is not burned onto or into the CPU its a seperate chip all it own & it can get a virus that rewrites the BIOS. Also many valueable things are stored in the battery CMOS I think you could like lose the HD settings in there after the boot up process has stored info there. Thou I am not 100% certain about that & never put it to the test either. So is your clock working right ?
