Hello,

Well, this hard drive that's in now had been working(got to windows once on initial reboot after OS install then twice under safe mode) last night until I got one of the many blue screens. It had Win2k & Fat32 then I reformatted to NTFS today, after I reinstalled the new memory, trying to install Win2k when I got the NTFS blue screen. This is the first time I received the same blue screen message in a row so maybe something is finally going to fail once and for all. I've reformatted 4 different hard drives/partitions probably 5 times each. Sometimes Fat32 for Win98 and sometimes NTFS for Win2k and WinXP. I think I even did a Fat16 for Win98. All the hard drives work for one maybe two boots then the blue screens appear and there's no getting back in to windows, even under safe mode. Either something is corrupting all these working hard drives or the BIOS is not seeing all the files for some reason. It doesn't seem to matter if I reformat a complete drive or OS partiton or reinstall on top of a previous windows folder, for some unknown reason windows always says it can't find a file on the install cd even though I can browse right to it. It's there but windows can't see it. The computer will D/L critical updates from the windows update site but the installation of these updates causes a blue screen. Oh yeah, I can sometimes get back in to windows once using the most recent known good startup config. I think I may just get another chip. Did a search and found one almost like the original for $140. Thanks, no one.
