I'm more inclined to think it's the Memory (maybe the contacts)...try pulling the sticks out and clean the contacts with an eraser...
The problem is one of having to exchange parts till a solution is found which sucks sometimes so I wouldn't rule out the Square(CPU) but would also look at the PSU...116F is not hot at all and most times the Rig will just lock up if it was...If the Square is Retail you still have some warranty left so
