If you play a lot of first-person games (shooters, races, flight sims), pay close attention to response, i.e. transition, time (lower is better). From there, try and strike a good balance between contrast ratio and brightness (higher is better).

Otherwise, make brightness and contrast ratio the most important factors, and don't worry too much about response time, as long as its not way out in Ridiculous Land as compared to your other choices.
