a cheap system. Since the Asus decided not to play fair, the neighbor that wanted it is left high and dry. What y'all got laying around that's somewhat speedy and cheap? Right now I have him on an old Gigabyte 5GSSM board with a K62-400 on it. The board was a pull from a Compaq. (Actually the board is not too shabby, has a barren BIOS on it though).
He was adverse to computers to begin with and now, like most "power hungry males" wants more "power".
Reminds me of Tim Taylor But his budget is really limited.

My parts supplies are getting very low. Between neighbors and grandkids, I've even had to give up my trusty old 700 step-thermo Athon setup that I had Linux on. Got an old Celeron 466 HP sitting here, that if I can ever get Regina to tell me what she wants for it I thought I'd ship to Greg T, I hate Celeron's. Got a K62-500 on an Epox MVP3GM Board that turned out not to have lost the
secondary IDE, for now anyway. But other than that
I'm fresh out of old decrepit machines.

So what y'all got lurking in your closets?
