Sounds about right 1.8 GHz should = AMDs 2.2GHz
as my AMD 2100+ = around 17GHz. So you are overclocking the CPU & the MoBo turning the FSB speed above the 133MHz mark thats why you have the extra nasty heat.
You dived right in full guns blasing not waiting for help first LoL. Anyways there is a safer way to overclock by doing the pencil trick on the CPU & unlocking it, but the FSB method gives you more speed as the CPU, MoBo & RAM are speeded up to at greater risk of burning something out. Only I dont have any links any more. Also the Heat Sink compound or tape puty makes a difference in the amount of heat you conduct away from the device you are cooling. I recommend a artic silver or better.
