what the hell is up with my folder!

i turned on my computer today to find that my my pictures slideshow screensaver had no pictures coming up. i go to where my folder is located (a slave 80gb hard drive to hold my stuff in case windows goes retarded) and find that my my documents folder has become a blank file. its still named my documents but has the unknown file type icon. everytime i double click it goes to either search for the proggy to open it thru web or search and when i go to we i get an error. http://shell.windows.com/fileassoc/0409/xml/redir.asp?Ext=ŸÄĀŸ
thats what the link goes to. i hope thats some kind of clue. i got lots of goodies in that folder and will seriuosly cry if everything is lost.. i run norton 2004, adwatch, and atguard(firewall) at all times. windowns runs on a 120gb raid array partition C:windows 20gb D: spare crap 100gb and G: the spare seperate 80gb where all my goods are. if you guys need more info let me know! please help me!
