Well the person who told me this was the IT consultant at my office. According to him, we can take the new PC's we get with XP installed OEM, and just reuse this other win2000 disc/# on the new PC's, so long as you don't use the XP license that came with the new PC anywhere else.

But as far as the win2000 copy you use, are there any rules on that? Does it matter where else that win2000 license is in use? From what I understand you can use the 2000 license on one machine that does not have an XP license, but then also use it on other machines that came with XP licenses as well, since those newer ones are covered by the Xp license, regardless of where the 2000 copy came from. Am I getting that right?
