I just put together my first computer. Parts for christmas and all. I have an athlon xp 2500 cpu. I did have a heatsink and fan rated for it already. But I got the wrong ones for christmas. The heatsink wouldn't work for sure. but i'm pretty sure i can mount the new fan on my old heatsink and would like to do so if it would keep my processor even cooler. The new fan is rated for a pentium 4. I've heard those can be 3 ghz. But I wasn't sure that because of the different socket type, it might make a difference. help? |
