Clean, Denatured Alchohol(removes dirt and body oil), wet/dry sand with 12-1500, Clean AGAIN!(ie AIR and ALCoHoL, Primer/Sealer, Paint accordingly, Clearcoat (in a Dust Free Environment), wet/dry sand lightly, rubbing compound, butterwax...Mind you I'm the Overseeer/Puter/Marketing Man as 2 Pros do the moves with help from Assistants...The key is to inspect it between steps...and some paints are 3-4 coats like this TriCoat:
