Ludicrous, the CPU is a Pentium II 333(slot) overclocked to 400. You got the idea. The fan is blowing directly to the center where the CPU is by drilling a hole through the heatsink. The heatsink is just a fan holder as a result.
So far so good. I like to try this idea on my old guinea pig K6 200; where the fan will be blowing directly to the die. I thought the idea behind the heatsink/fan is to reduce the hot volume of air around the CPU by blowing away the hot air inside the heatsink. Why not make it more efficient by blowing the hot CPU instead by not allowing heat build up? What i don't know is if there is any thermal/mechanical effect that may damage the CPU with the colder air hitting it directly. Thanks.
