...from a Win98 boot disk. Blow away all existing partitions, then re-create the partition(s) you will be wanting for the new setup.

Remember that the Primary DOS partition is automatically its own drive, whereas the Extended DOS partition is just an 'area' that you have to fill with Logical DOS Drives.
