I see that you are using an external USB burner.
What for a computer are you using, James?
Your problem may be a driver issue on your USB bus.
USB 1.X is not fast and not a good streaming conduit. If you have another computer that you can use your external drive on, do it!
See if you can re-create the errors on another computer with USB access.
We use an HP external CDRW for backup on some of our lab instruments at my place of employment. Data? Fine! Music? Not so good! Operating system?
Win2K pro. Same problems you have. Some machines are better than others and Win98 machines are better than Win2K machines.
