I think that all of my problems with invalid page faults and other weirdness were, in fact, related to the dirty AC power at the old house. I did a fresh install a few days ago and have not noticed a single one of the usual funny problems. I still find it odd that dirty power would cause the same problem on two seperate mobos, but I am not going to complain.
