Also might be good idea to get any drivers for Win98 for the motherboard - have them on floppy, CD or a partition you do not format.

Install them only if needed - if Win98 does not understand something. I upgraded a HP 8200 or somesuch from 95 to 98 - needed video drivers is all.

Then I installed the sound drivers - boom - no midi wavetable. Did same thing again on duplicate machine with fresh downloaded drivers. Should hve left it alone!
