I would have recommened adding the second PSU to power all the drives & fans & give your main PSU a minor break. But moving soon that could be a big hassel.
Are you using @ least a cheap surge device ?
You have tried a power plug on a different circuit right ?
Is that computer sitting near a another computer or device that can create interference ?
With no ground your RF sheilding abilities is cut down.
Your CPU could be @ fault to if it was going bad or needing more power, the MoBo POST can miss little problems.
