I just lost the PS on my work PC, up in flames. The UPS shut down power to the PC, and I couldn't get it to turn on. I unplugged the UPS to see if it needed to be reset, hit the reset/test buttons, but no juice on the PC. Then I decided to hit the overload reset button on the back of the UPS. The PS exploded with a loud pop and started shooting sparks and flame out the fan grill. All that from just the battery, the UPS was unplugged

So I'm guessing the overload protection on my UPS doesn't work when the unit is unplugged.
