Internet sharing in XP

Well, I finally got around to networking my wife's computer to my computer. I'm using the Netgear usb phoneline networking boxes. Moving files between the computers is very fast but when I access the internet on her pc it seems to go really slow. I had them contected using win98 and sygate software late last year and the access was much faster. Now I'm just using the home office wizard found in xp. Does anyone know of any articles that discuss speeding up the internet access or should I just go buy the newest sygate software. I'm thinking I may just have something turned on/off that shouldn't be but I really couldn't find any options anywhere that sounded like they might help.
