Yes, your assumption is correct, and I know for sure that the card is not the problem - most of the time I connect my stereo to my PC. I have tested the speakers with an other PC and my discman and still that right one goes dead. Sometimes it helps to shut them off, then turn them off again. Sometimes it helps to radically increase the volume level by adjusting it on the right speaker itself; sound then suddenly blows out. This last option has a very short effect by the way. Most of the time the speaker goes dead very fast after finally regaining sound...
One other problem is that I can't seem to get the blasted thing open... but I'll try again.
